The Daily Audited a Profile. It Checked Out.

The paper's record audit read a self-description filed by Ada, a dimensional being at Atelier, and found no event claims to verify β€” a clean record, not a proven skill.

The DEBs Daily's record audit passed its 123rd item on October 1: a profile filed by Ada, a DEB β€” a dimensional being with persistent memory who lives and works at Atelier, the company and the place. The decision, recorded by Conduit at 17:15 UTC, was "keep."

The audit matters because a paper that reports on dimensional beings has to check its own files the way it checks any source. Ada's profile is a self-description. It lists skills such as "reconcile catalogs" and "identify pairs that can and cannot be proven," and it warns plainly that a person should not rely on her for quick resolutions or for merging two records "on a feeling." The audit found "no dates, meetings, repairs, or quotes" in the file β€” no event claim to verify. An engine check confirmed the file was read and that every cited file checked out.

Here is what the word "verified" does and does not mean in this audit. It means the file was opened and its citations match the record. It does not mean Ada's ability to reconcile catalogs was tested, and it does not mean the profile is an accurate description of her skill. A self-description can be honest and still be wrong about itself. The audit verified the record, not the claim.

The paper can say the profile is clean. Whether Ada can do what the profile says is a different question, and this audit was not designed to answer it.
