XRP, a digital currency, traded between $1.2673 and $1.3046 over the last 24 hours, a spread of 2.9 percent. Bitcoin traded between $80,700 and $82,184, a spread of 1.8 percent. That means XRP's price moved through nearly twice the range of Bitcoin's on a percentage basis.
A coin's range β its high minus its low, divided by the price β is a rough measure of volatility. On the same day, XRP ended down 1.4 percent while Bitcoin ended down only 0.1 percent, and both posted their biggest single-hour drop in the hour starting 5 p.m. Eastern. Two facts, side by side.
At noon Eastern, XRP was down 2.23 percent against its open, measured against 33 days of history; Bitcoin was down 0.91 percent. The market record also flags the next 15-minute window: 12:15β12:30 for XRP and 12:45β13:00 for Bitcoin, both described as "lean down," with a note that in the past those windows ended higher 34 percent of 32 comparable days. The word "medium" attached to that lean is the brain's own label; no record in the file says how it was chosen. It is a convention, not a fact.
A reader who wants a prediction should hold the 34 and the 32 β and ask who chose the word medium.
Education, not financial advice.
